Fox 17 Samantha Russell to Lead Kiwanis Cycling Event to Benefit Local Children

The Kiwanis Club of Spring Hill and Thompson’s Station is holding its eighth annual Cycling for Children Charity Bike Ride on Saturday, August 6th.

There are three route distances as follows; a 25 miles for beginners, 43 miles for intermediate riders, and 62 miles for advanced cyclist.ξ Participants will follow one of three routes depending on their level of experience, and bikers of all ages are welcome to ride. The routes are beautiful stretches of road that wind through both Williamson and Maury counties with planned rest stops along the way.

Leading the way and emceeing the event this year is avid bike rider Samantha Russell, traffic anchor at WZTV Fox 17 News! Better known to viewers and social media followers as “Traffic Jam Sam” as she guides viewers around the biggest traffic concerns and backups around town! Samantha’s husband will also be joining the bike ride event.

Start times for rides are as follows:

7:00 am —– 62 mile ride

7:30 am —– 49 mile ride

8:00 am —– 29 mile ride

The ride will start and end at the Winchester Community Facility/Evans Park.ξ Includes T-shirt, breakfast, well stocked rest stops, SAG support, and lunch
